Assessment and Treatment for Foot & Ankle Pain

If your pain has developed over a period of time, I will approach this differently than if you sustained an acute ‘instant’ injury. For the former; finding a root cause is key. Discussing when, how, and why your pain started and how it responds to triggers, provides clues that will lead us to a diagnosis.

From here a physical assessment that will likely involve some strength tests, perhaps running on a treadmill, as well as some specific testing will be undertaken to provide a basis for the rehabilitation prescribed.

Keeping you active is ALWAYS a priority whether you’re a runner, boot camp addict, or gymnast, we will discuss ways to adapt and still progress. Dependent upon the current tolerance of the injured structure, balanced with your goals we will make a plan.

How long it will take to recover and how many sessions you may require is very individual. Read more about my approach to this in my blog ‘How long will it take to recover - can I train yet?’
